Rev. Lindsay Poteat
has served as the Executive Superintendent of the Rescue Mission since
November 8, 1983. He oversees all aspects of the ministry. Among his
favorite tasks are conducting daily chapel services, speaking to outside
groups about the Mission, and writing for the monthly newsletter.

Barbara Poteat is one of
the Mission's secretaries/social workers. She deals face to face with the women
who come to the Mission for clothing, groceries, or financial assistance. She is
the daughter of the Rescue Mission founders and wife of Rev. Poteat. Barbara is
involved with the Ladies Auxiliary, and she is
key in planning our banquet and other events. |

Rev. Alan DeFriese has
served as the Assistant Superintendent since April 12, 1999. He is
responsible for the maintenance of the Rescue Mission facilities, and
assisting Rev. Poteat in directing the Mission. He also serves as
director of
Camp Open Arms.

Faith DeFriese is
the Mission's accountant. She pays the bills, runs the payroll, and
works with the outside auditor on our yearly audit. Faith can remember
helping Steve Papa make meatloaf in the Mission's kitchen when she was 3
years old. Her many years of experience make her very valuable to the
Mission. |

Pat Newman works as one of our secretary/social workers. Her background
as an administrative and legal secretary makes her a great fit. Being the wife
of a youth pastor, Pat also brings years of ministry experience to the Rescue
Mission.

John
Chandler is one of our utility workers. One of John's main tasks is to
pick up
donated items
around the Peninsula. John also cooks, performs maintenance and various
administrative tasks. |

Steve Fletcher
directs all the sports activities at Camp Open Arms. In addition, he
performs the layout and design of our monthly
newsletter. Each
year Steve puts together multi-media presentations for our banquets and
other events. |

Alan Henderson is another of
our resident staff members that has many areas of talent. Along with
working our front desk, which involves answering the phone, dealing with
walk-up clients, and scheduling pickups, Alan also cooks and runs the
Thrift Store from time to time. |

Danny Johnson is our most recent hire. After completing the Overcomers Program,
we were in need of another staff member. Danny, like most of our other employees
is called upon to perform many duties including cooking, overseeing the thrift
store, errand running. Danny is also very active at Riverside Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. |
